Born from Experience Built with Heart
At Proper Home Care, our story isn’t just about business — it’s about family, love, and the unwavering belief that no senior should be treated as anything less than extraordinary.
Our founder, Max Raper, didn’t set out to start a home care agency.
He became a caregiver first — not by choice, but by necessity — when his beloved mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Over four long, emotional years, Max lived the realities of senior caregiving every single day.
He celebrated small victories and mourned difficult losses. He balanced daily caregiving with life’s other demands. And he encountered the painful shortcomings of a senior care system that often felt cold, impersonal, and broken.

The Pain Points That Shaped a Purpose
Inconsistent Caregiver Quality
Agencies sent undertrained, inattentive staff who treated caregiving like a chore — not a calling.
Impersonal "One-Size-Fits-All" Service
His mother's unique needs and spirit were often overlooked in favor of standardized care checklists.
Lack of Communication and Accountability
Max was left in the dark too many times, with agencies slow to respond and quicker to pass blame.
Erosion of Dignity
Most heartbreaking of all, Max saw how easy it was for vulnerable seniors to be treated like burdens rather than people with rich histories and deep value.

A New Vision for Senior Care
- Where every client receives a fully customized care plan, not just a checkbox list of tasks.
- Where caregivers are highly experienced, deeply compassionate professionals, not just warm bodies filling a schedule.
- Where an RN oversees every care plan, ensuring safety, clinical integrity, and quality.
- Where families are supported, heard, and never left feeling alone or powerless.
Our Mission Today
Seniors can age gracefully, safely, and joyfully in the comfort of home.
Families can find peace of mind knowing their loved ones are in trusted, expert hands.
No family has to feel overwhelmed, unsupported, or forced to settle for subpar care.
